PANCHAKARMA TREATMENTS

Panchakarma is a detailed treatment in Ayurveda that ensures purification of the body from toxic accumulations and rejuvenates body tissues to gain the paramount benefits of food, nutrition, and exercise. Panchakarma alludes to the five karmas including, Vamana (Emesis), Virechana (Purgation), Niroohavasti (Decoction enema), Nasya (instillation of medicine through nostrils), and Anuvasanavasti (oil enema). The ultimate aim of these procedures is to remove toxic elements and to maintain the balance of the body. 

This detoxification process restores and helps to sustain youth with the proper usage of herbal oils.  ‘Charaka Samhita’  elucidates the importance of Panchakarma in the Ayurvedic context. The Indian ayurvedic tradition is rooted in the aforementioned text. By the blending of natural elements and medicate oils, panchakarma treatments can be considered as an eloquent method for maintaining the balance of the body.


ABYANGAM

Abyangam is widely acclaimed as an articulate oil massage in Ayurveda. The process includes massaging the body from top to bottom with hot herbal oils. Generally, during summer months Coconut oil and safflower oil is also used in cold weather. Abyangam serves not only relief the pain but also acts as preventive measures for increasing circulation, stimulating and strengthening the lymphatic system, and agape the moving of life force to rinse and re-energize the body. It also helps to boost better sleep, improve skin lustre, and circulation of blood.


SIRODHARA

The term Sirodhara consists of two words ‘shiro’ (head) and ‘dhara’ (flow). Sirodhara is an ayurvedic healing method that involves pouring liquid, generally oil, milk, buttermilk, or decoction on to the forehead in a controlled, measured and rhythmic manner. Sirodhara also includes massaging of the head and scalp. This will stimulate the important points all around the head and eventually increase blood circulation. Sirodhara catalyzes regulating stress and promoting mental relaxation. The mild hot herbal oils induce vasodilation of blood vessels in the head and increase blood circulation and leads to sound sleep.


ELAKIZHI

As we know Ayurveda is rooted in natural herbs and medicines. Elakizhi or Patrapotala Sweda is a therapy that uses scores of medicinal leaves(herbs). Elakizhi promotes exudation in the inflicted area which evokes skin to eliminate wastes. The herbals are packed in a form of Kizhi or bolus and dipped into warm ayurvedic oils and massage the body. This sweat-inducing method is the best option for pain management in muscle. The stiffness of the muscles will be softened through Elakizhi. The severity of Rheumatoid arthritis and joint pains can be removed through Elakizhi method. This process is thoroughly based on natural herbs without any steroids.


UDWARTHANAM

The terminology Udwarthanam means to elevate or to promote. This is a dry massaging technique used in Ayurveda. It includes certain therapeutic deep tissue massage using essential ayurvedic herbal dry powders. Udwartana fosters blood circulation, improves muscle tone, cleansing and nourishing the body through the use of dry herbs. Udwarthanam is an effective methodology for weight management and obesity.


NASYAM

Errhine Therapy or Nasyam is a fruitful panchakarma treatment used as a solution for nasal blockage and sinusitis. The procedure of Nasyam includes passing of medicated herbal oil through the nose. The method is famous for treating sickness related to the nose, throat, sinus, and head. The herbal oil nurtures and nourishes the nose, throat, sinus, and head. Traditionally nasyam is considered as a lubricant method which directly impacts and enhances the faculties of vision and hearing. The constituents of the oil are brahmi, calamus, sesame, olive oils, Ghee, sandalwood, eucalyptus and other essential oils.
